Advisory Service for Credit Unions

The funding will support the employment of a part-time worker who will deliver the objectives of the project which are as follows:

• Raise the profile and awareness of Credit Unions in Cornwall
• Co-ordinate the provision of advice and information
• To share best practice
• Co-ordinate the provision of training to ensure best value
• Represent the interests of Cornwall Credit Unions, individually and collectively
• Provision of a forum for mutual support, guidance and exchange of information

The way this would be achieved would be to:

• Maintain a Board representing all Credit Unions in Cornwall and develop Cornwall wide strategies
• Support Credit Unions in the process of registration
• Provide educational and networking events
• Co-ordinate training
• Develop Cornwall wide marketing processes
• Share best practice
• Maintain an information database
• Represent Cornish Credit Unions within a regional and national Credit Union framework
